The main problem causing premature failure of roller needle bearings

2026-03-11

There are many reasons for the failure of roller needle bearings, and all the influencing factors in the design and manufacturing process are related to the failure of the bearings, which is difficult to analyze and determine. In general, it can be considered and analyzed from two aspects: usage factors and intrinsic factors. The usage factors mainly refer to whether the installation, adjustment, maintenance, repair, etc. meet the technical requirements. Installation conditions are one of the primary factors in use. Improper installation of bearings often leads to changes in the stress state between various parts of the entire bearing system, causing roller needle bearings to operate abnormally and fail prematurely. According to the technical requirements for bearing installation, use, maintenance, and upkeep, monitor and inspect the load, speed, working temperature, vibration, noise, and lubrication conditions that the bearings are subjected to during operation. If any abnormalities are found, immediately identify the cause and make adjustments to restore them to normal. In addition, it is also important to analyze and inspect the quality of lubricating grease and the surrounding medium and atmosphere.
How to deal with the impact of high temperature of roller needle bearings
(1). The alarm bell will ring
(2). The fault light sign of the turbine machinery on the machine side panel lights up, indicating that the instrument temperature of the bearing has increased, and the signal relay is activated.
(3). The black needle of the thermometer dial (expansion thermometer) overlaps with or exceeds the yellow needle.
(4). Send a fault signal indicating an increase in temperature of the roller needle bearing.
2. Causes of high temperature phenomenon in bearings:;
(1). It is possible that the cooling water of the bearing has been interrupted, causing a high temperature phenomenon.
(2). It is possible that the oil quality of the roller needle bearing has deteriorated, the oil itself is not clean, or the oil has deteriorated during operation. If the moisture in the oil increases, it will cause an increase in the acidity of the oil, which will reduce the lubricating effect of the oil, corrode the bearing shell, and thus cause an increase in bearing temperature.
